Local tips van Babs

We start this time with some local tips from Babs Groenendijk. She knows the island like no other and is happy to share her tips with you!

  1. Visit Noorgouwe's picking garden: if you want to brighten up your holiday home or want to surprise someone, you should definitely take a look at this beautiful picking garden. Children will have a great time in the corn maze.
  2. Theetuin de Stokroos is a lovely spot for a nice lunch or high tea.
  3. Explore the island by canoe! Get in your canoe and paddle away! There are several places on Schouwen-Duiveland where you can enjoy canoeing. If you are fanatical and well-trained, you can of course also go on the North Sea, but be well informed about the currents.
  4. Bird-watching in nature reserve de Prunje - explore the area on foot with your binoculars and camera, and take the best photo for home above the kitchen table.
  5. Mountain biking in the Kop van Schouwen; this beautiful unpaved route through the forests of Schouwen and the largest dune area in Zeeland is definitely a must! With its many single tracks, short but steep climbs, technical sections and bends between trees, this route is highly recommended.
  6. Challenging the whole family? Then take a look at the Klimbos Westerschouwen adrenaline flows through your veins, drops of sweat fall down and is definitely a unique experience for young and old.
  7. If you like peace and quiet; we only recommend walking and cycling and don't forget to take a good look around. Our forest area is known for its many deer and fallow deer, as well as for its special birds and, in the right period, beautiful mushrooms. Along the way, check out the aircraft bunker !
  8. See the island from the air: gliding along is definitely worth a try.
