Team Groenendijk

Niels Groenendijk

My name is Niels Groenendijk and I can call myself the owner of this beautiful young company.

I am father of two sons and together with my wife and our Jack Russel Kees, we enjoy living in Burgh-Haamstede.

During my sparse free time, I can often be found on the water, whether it is fishing, water-skiing or jet-skiing with my family. We live in a beautiful province where all this is possible right next door.

Besides working in tourism, I also like to stay at our family holiday home in the Biesbosch, which is a wonderful place to unwind after a busy period fishing.

So what I can highly recommend is the bass workshop from a boat. This usually takes place near the Zeelandbrug. You will receive excellent explanations, even if you have never fished before.

I also enjoy going out for dinner with friends and/or family and, of course, if you live in Zeeland, you have to eat fish and a visit to the Seafarm in Kamperland should not be missed.

I enjoy working at Groenendijk Rentals as a Front Office employee and I take care of administrative tasks.

I live in Burgh-Haamstede and think one of the most beautiful places to visit on the island is the Plompetoren, which you can visit / climb daily and here you have a beautiful view over the island and the Oosterschelde.

For a drink or good food I like to go to Strandclub Zee aan de Brouwersdam, this beach bar is in the water at high tide and is very stylishly decorated and there is always enough parking space.

It is a great pleasure for me to work at Groenendijk Rentals, a small family business with a lot of fun and an open vision to the future!

What does my job entail? You can find me in the office and online where I am daily involved with: incoming reservations and questions, optimization of the occupancy & price, website maintenance & sales and on-boarding new homes, but above all making sure that everyone is having a good time, both at the office and at the holiday address.

Who am I? I am a busy bee who likes to look for new challenges and/or opportunities! In my spare time I go out a lot with my husband and boxer Chera and I often feel like a tourist in my own country. During the holidays we travel a lot and try to check off as many countries as possible.

My tips:

  • Come and enjoy horseback riding at Manege Duno in Oostkapelle. In my spare time I accompany horseback rides through the forest and on the beach! Highly recommended!
  • We love good food and not just during the holidays ;) Book a table at Restaurant Restaurant de Boterkapel or try the real Zeeland wines and the tastiest Bouillabaisse at De Kleine Schorre.
  • Cycle or walk through the beautiful nature of Zeeland! There is so much to discover :) If you want to cover real distances, rent a bike at Fietsverhuur Zeeland.

See you in Zeeland!

I live with great pleasure in Burgh-Haamstede together with my wife, our three children, and our dog Lotte. I love being outdoors – I’m an active volunteer at FC Westhoek, where I help lead gym classes for the youth. In my free time, I enjoy travelling with our camper van, exploring everything from lovely spots in the Netherlands to beautiful mountain regions. Barbecuing is a family favourite at our home, and our annual ski trip is always something we look forward to.

At Groenendijk Verhuur, I work in the technical service department as a true “jack of all trades.” I enjoy switching quickly between different tasks and locations, and I like to think flexibly and find practical solutions. My work is very diverse – from inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations to troubleshooting, garden upkeep, safety checks, and offering advice.

Erik’s tips for a great stay on Schouwen-Duiveland:

  • Concert at Sea (Brouwersdam, late June): a multi-day music festival with a fantastic atmosphere.
  • Regional and Agricultural Museum Goemanszorg (Dreischor): housed in a historic farmhouse from around 1700 – highly recommended for families.
  • Westenschouwen Forest: great mountain biking trails and an exciting climbing park.
  • Flood Museum (Ouwerkerk): impressive, educational, and definitely worth a visit.
  • Walk via the Moolweg to the bunker: from there you can continue into the Zeepeduinen; you’ll find an off-leash area for dogs and, at dusk, it’s common to spot deer and roe deer.
