Harbour days in Zierikzee

The Harbour Days in Zierikzee are 3 full days of festivities.

Every year at the end of August, Zierikzee hosts 3 days of music, folklore and many activities as well as various dining options where, of course, the Mussels take centre stage.

The residents of Zierikzee and the surrounding area mark the three dates in their diaries well in advance to meet up with friends and family for 3 days of fun. Four squares are set up where various bands and DJs perform. There are also plenty of free activities for children every day, such as jumping jacks a carousel and walking on water in the water roller.

One of the best things about the harbour days on Saturday is the trip on a mussel cutter to pick up Neptune, who is waiting for the mussel princess on one of the sandbanks in the Oosterschelde. After this cruise, delicious steaming fresh Mussels await you. The bowsprit walk is also a long-standing tradition during the Port Days whether you are young or old, big or small, everyone may attempt to walk to the end of the soaped bowsprit.

And all the popping ending is a beautiful fireworks show on the Saturday.
